Advanced User Course
The Advanced User Course is two days duration.  Participants will develop the skill to use all the power of Benchmark at an advanced level.  The Advanced User course builds on the knowledge of the New User Course, revealing the full functionalities behind Benchmark.  You will discover the extensive advantages of the software, and further increase your efficiency !

The advanced course covers:

Working with Benchmark’s Sub Items

Sub Items create an additional level within the Benchmark structure.  They are considered to be a single resource, but in reality they are a group of resources that are commonly used together.  Sub Item's are easier to import and edit than resources, helping to streamline your estimating.

Quantity Takeoff facility

Learn how to create and edit Quantity Takeoff sheets, associate them with Items and use them in your project.

Managing projects with Benchmark

The Export to Microsoft Project feature lets you manage your project after you have submitted your estimate and won the job.  This gives you an accurate schedule which is very useful for project managers in particular.

Productivity Feature

Using productivity rates for Benchmark Items further enhances the accuracy of your bid, and saves time altering the quantities of time-based resources.

Quotation Reports

Learn how to create your very own customised Quotation report templates in Microsoft Word and export your quotes to the templates.  Learn how to run Quote with Options to quickly produce a customised quote report the way you want it.

Function of the Benchmark Administration screen

From the Admin screen, you can customise Benchmark to suit your needs.  Many of Benchmark's estimating options can be turned on or off, or modified through this one screen.

Using Spread to distribute your indirect costs against direct costs

Further delve into the Spread functionalities.  Adjusting the spread of overheads and profits by is a further way to tweak your estimates for more competitive bidding.  You are able to enter specific prices rates, or percentage margins for items, or choose to mark items as 'not spread'.

Supplier Manager

Supplier Manager grants Benchmark users the ability to issue schedules to sub contractors, compare their returned prices, and choose a subcontractor for a job all within the one section of Benchmark.

Supplier Percentage Discount

Allows you to allocate a % discount from particular suppliers, which saves you time and ensures your entire estimate is based on accurate prices.

Cartage

Learn how to use the cartage function in your estimate to save you time, as your cartage is automatically calculated for you.

Follow up Functionality

Follow Up will help you stay on top of your estimating.  Follow-Up provides reminders to ensure you don't miss any current or potential opportunities, and stores your history of contact with a client.  This feature is designed to keep all the aspects of estimating a project within the Benchmark program.

Market Analysis

Market Analysis outlines a wide range of key market data.  For each project you can see whether it was won or lost, when it was won, and if you did not win, who did win and what was their price.  You can also outline a reason for loss, and track results for each individual estimator, so it acts as a control and evaluation system.

Links to other software via ODBC

With this functionality your can get information out of your data file and into a different source.  You can import data that you want out of your Benchmark data file into a spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel.

Resource Production Rates

Resource Production Rates are allocated to groups of resources that share a production rate.  This is done at the resource level, whereas the Productivity Feature discussed above works at the Item level.  This feature is useful where Items contain more than one group of resources that have differing production rates.

... and much more

Each participant receives an Advanced User Course Manual.
