Version 6.05
receives outstanding feedback
In the November
06 edition of Benews, I talked about the exciting new features
in Version 6.05 and what they offer our users. What we are now
hearing is that our users are experiencing, and enjoying, the
benefits of these new features. Comments have been flowing in
about the increase in speed of producing an estimate or a
quote.
Our users are seeing that features like the Quantity Takeoff
sheets provide common procedures to all staff members producing
estimates, allowing them to produce estimates quicker. They are
seeing that our new quote presentation procedures, including the
Microsoft Word export and Quote with Options report, are
enabling them to produce quotes in the format that they have
always wanted. And for integration within their organisation
the Exports to Excel allow them to manage their projects and
link with other business systems better.

Not only are our clients benefiting, but we are also seeing
a lot of interest from larger organisations that have been using
spreadsheets for their estimating. These organisations are now
realising that the firm procedures that are part of the
Benchmark system give them a consistent estimating method across
their organisation, which is easy to use for all users.
The pace of Benchmark development is not slowing, however, and
we are pushing ahead with many new features. These include
those allowing Library Items to be used even faster and more
flexibly in project bids. I will talk about some of these
developments in our next newsletter.
I would like to personally thank those users who have been with
us for many years now and assisted with our developments, and to
welcome all those new users who are now discovering the many
benefits of Benchmark.
